Back to school night last week was a great time to connect with teachers and staff of course -- but also with other parents.
Next week there are three parent visiting days where we'll meet in the library on the 2nd floor for coffee and a welcome from Mrs. Healy, and then you may drop in on your child's classes.
- Tuesday 6th, 8th grade parents, 7:45-10:22 am
- Wednesday 7th, 7th grade parents, 7:45-10:43 am
- Thursday 8th, 6th grade parents, 7:45-10:43 am
Other important October dates:
- Monday 12th - No School: Columbus Day
- Wednesday 14th - Flu Clinic (see notice below) 8:00 AM, Exercise Room
- Wednesday 14th through Friday 16th - Magazine Drive Fundraiser (more details coming home soon!)
- Thursday 22nd - Early Release: 11:30am dismissal
- Thursday 22nd and Friday 23rd - 7:30pm Our Town, a play performed by 7th and 8th graders, Day Auditorium (tickets on sale in a few weeks in the cafeteria during lunchtime)
- Wednesday 28th - 6-8pm, 6th grader Community Event (6th graders and their parents and guardians are invited. Children must be accompanied by an adult. We already have a squad of folks who will make this a fun evening -- but we could always use a few more. Pop us an email if you want to help out.)

The flu clinic for students here at Day will be on Wednesday October 14th at 8:00 am in the exercise room. Any students should report there on that day with their consent forms (see links below) and appropriate payment.

For your child to receive seasonal flu vaccine at school, please return the following to the school nurse by Wednesday September 30th.
- The completed and signed consent form specific to the vaccine you want your child to have
- A check for $25 (flu shot) or $35 (FluMistŪ) made out to Maxim Health Systems

As we did last year, we will be offering flu vaccine to all students here at Day. Both the intranasal flu vaccine (FluMistŪ) and the flu shot will be available to students during the school day in October. A fee will be charged for the vaccine.
