CCI 2009 Study Results Now Available  
 
CCI has just completed its 2009 U.S. Practices and Trends Study now available to CCI Members. Results include: 10 key insights as compared to the 2007 study, major corporate communication functions and budget responsibilities, communication officers perceived role of corporate communication, and more. The study's Executive Summary and full report can now be accessed on the Studies page of CCI's website. Study findings were presented at a CCI Briefing and at Prudential Financial, Inc., a CCI Corporate Partner. Report highlights will also be presented at Johnson & Johnson, a CCI Executive Sponsor, and at Aalborg University, Denmark. CCI welcomes opportunities to make on site presentations. Contact us to make arrangements. A video of the October 15 Executive Briefing is also available in Baruch College/CUNY's Digital Media Library. Roger Bolton Outlines Tactics to Restore Trust in Business
Roger Bolton, Senior Counselor for APCO Worldwide, former senior vice president of communications for the health care benefits provider Aetna, and past president of the Arthur W. Page Society, is a man on a mission. He continues to speak passionately about the Page Society's "The Authentic Enterprise" report and is now also delivering the findings of the Society's Special Report, "The Dynamics of Public Trust in Business - - Emerging Opportunities for Leaders." The report was a joint project with the Business Roundtable Institute for Corporate Ethics and was the subject of a CCI Briefing September 23. View a video of the briefing which is also available on the Archive page of our website .
 
Conference on Corporate Communication 2010 Call for Papers Issued
Join us at Wroxton College in picturesque Wroxton, England for the Conference on Corporate Communication 2010. Of particular interest are case studies, papers, and research that investigate the evolving relationships between corporations and stakeholders in the wake of the global financial crisis of 2008-2009. The deadline for submission of proposals to CCI is January 15, 2010. CCI & Partners Explore Sustainability and the Business & Urban Environment of the Future
On November 6 the Robert Zicklin Center for Corporate Integrity and The Stephen L. Newman Real Estate Institute at Baruch College/CUNY in association with CCI, began the task of planning for sustainable business in future cities of 25, 50, or even 100 million. Expert panelists from IBM, Pepsi Cola, the Gaia Institute, United Technologies Corporation, Consolidated Edison, CISCO Systems, Bank of America, Cook + Fox Architects LLP, Jaros Baum & Bolles and One Bryant Park explored issues related to the provision of a hospitable environment - - water, power, and real estate. Program partners included: Arthur W. Page Society, NIRI - National Investor Relations Institute, Net Impact, PR Coalition, and The Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (RSA). A video of the program will soon be made available here and on the Archive page of CCI's website.
 
Michael Goodman Moderates Panel on Proxy Reform
On July 27th Dr. Michael B. Goodman, CCI Director, moderated a panel discussing SEC proposed major reform to proxy access to dissident shareholders and the recent elimination of Rule 452 - Broker Discretionary Vote for 2010 Proxy Season. Panelists included Douglas Chia, Senior Counsel & Assistant Corporate Secretary, Johnson & Johnson; Jeff Morgan, President and CEO, NIRI National; and Nieles Holch, Executive Director, Shareholder Communications Coalition. The program was sponsored by NIRI NY and the Robert Zicklin Center for Corporate Integrity Baruch College/CUNY. Tina Genest is Guest of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University 
Professor Daniel So, Tina Genest, Doctor Doreen WuPutting $$$ on Green
CCI's Associate Director, Tina Genest (center), spent 19 days this September at the invitation of her host, Professor Daniel So (left), and the the Bilingual Corporate Communication Program Committee, Department of Chinese & Bilingual  Studies, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Professor So is a CCI academic advisor and his committee is a program partner of CCI's annual conference. Dr. Doreen Wu (right) is a member of their academic team and is a frequent conference presenter. They both have supported CCI's research efforts in Greater China. Genest taught, met with students and area professionals, and collaborated on the Department's proposal to establish an MA in Bilingual Corporate Communication. As part of the proposal, CCI will recruit practitioners able to dedicate 2-3 weeks to teach undergraduate and graduate students, and working professionals.
  
Corporate Communication: Strategic Adaptation for Global Practice
Sound intriguing? Dr. Michael B. Goodman, CCI Executive Director, and Professor and Director, MA in Corporate Communication, Baruch College/CUNY and Peter B. Hirsch, CCI Advisor, former partner at Porter Novelli and currently a corporate digital strategist consultant and instructor at Baruch and Columbia, have delivered their manuscript and are anticipating a spring publication of their book of this title. It promises to deliver! More to come.
