This week I posted the following on my Blog,
Careful: Don't Forget "The Power of Personal Connections". This was inspired by an essay I read in the Wall Street Journal, by John Freeman, editor of Granta Magazine, titled "Not so Fast". This was adapted from his forthcoming book, The Tyranny of Email coming out this fall.
This really hit me, as I see it happening all around me. He talks about how we are dangerously building some bad habits as a result of our excellerated social media activity.
Please take the time to read this and think about the compelling case he makes for time spent social media-ing, taking the place of time spent connecting personally.
Social Media is a "relational tool". Leverage it to make relationships personal not automated.
