Recent rule change shifts, increases survey requirements and modifies Table A items
|
With property transactions on the rise, you need to be aware of recently instituted adjustments to ALTA/ACSM Land Title Survey standards. These changes affect every ALTA undertaken since Feb. 23, 2011.
WHAT DO THESE MEAN TO YOU?
- Expands upon what documents are to be provided to the surveyor.
- Some previously optional standards are now minimum standards.
- Additionally, some Table A items have been added or deleted.
- Addresses the resolution of junior/senior rights issues.
These items clarify what information should be provided to the surveyor, what should be depicted on an ALTA, and the course of action necessary when regarding overlapping adjoining property. All play an important role in what is revealed about a piece of property. |
