Do You Love It?
There are a lot of questions we can ask ourselves when we are trying to decide what to do with all the inherited "stuff." One question that resonated with me was, "is the items something you find aesthetically pleasing and would be inclined to buy if you saw it in a store?" more...
Will would be starting a new chapter of his life and,
as in our own lives, when that happens we need to reevaluate and make the sometimes difficult decisions about what goes and what stays. Watching these scenarios play out on TV was reassuring to me as it reinforced the need for support during the process. You will need help. You will need motivation. You will need someone to listen. more...
Why "Misc" is a Four Lettered Word, or "How to Name Your Files" Just like naming your file system categories, there is no wrong way to name the individual files (except to name any of them "Miscelaneous!"). The "right" file name is the one that pops into your brain when you ask yourself, "Where will I look for this paper?" more...

Closet Organizing
Beautify! A beautiful closet can be the start of a beautiful day. You can try painting the walls to match your room, installing lighting or putting down a throw rug in a beautiful color. Matching hangers and clothes hung by type and color can make a small closet look like a chic boutique! Hang Low! Kids often find it easier to hang their clothes, rather than folding. Give them the tools they need to be more independent with low hanging rods. Use Good, Matching Hangers!
Invest in good hangers. Your clothes are valuable, and they deserve to not be stretched and abused into shapelessness - not to mention that matching hangers can make any closet look more organized in minutes. Alternative Uses for Hanging Shoe Bags! Shoe bags are not just for shoes. Clear shoe bags can be the perfect storage place for small toys and craft supplies. Hang them low on the inside of a closet door so your child can find things independently (and put them away)! Make it Yours!
Leverage the height of your closet and add shelves if needed. |
