ZIs Live Music Alive In Miami?

Tobacco Road Miami is full of options to have a good time. So, instead of going to the same old place why not support your local live music scene. While this is not an all inclusive list by any means, it's a place to start. This is not an endorsement of these locations since everyone has their own personal taste in music. Surf the websites, find out what other people are saying, ask your friends and then take a chance and check one out. You may even find your new favorite local band. One word of warning, some of these venues are located in neighborhood that for lack of a better description have a lot of "character" or "characters" may be the better word. So make sure you know were your going and stay safe.

The Setai: 2001 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach, Phone: (305) 520-6000

The tranquil and beautiful setting of the bar and courtyard is perfect for a Jazz Night under the stars. Every Thursday evening, local and national jazz musicians and vocalists perform live, playing classic, Latin, and smooth jazz.

Soyka: 5556 NE 4th Court, Miami, Phone: (305) 759-3117

Restaurant, bar and lounge -  Soyka offers live jazz on Fridays and Saturdays from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. without a cover charge. Come early and check out the mussels (in my opinion the best in Miami) and ask for extra bread for sopping up the delicious creamy broth.

YSouth Beach Wine & Food Festival 2012 - February 23 through 26th

SOBEWFF Is it too early to start talking about my most favorite Miami event? I don't think so, especially since there are so many new offerings this year.

Tickets go on sale to the general public on October 24, 2011. American Express presale tickets are available starting at 9:00 AM on October 10, 2011. Make sure that you check out the website - 2012.sobefest.com because tickets go fast. I never miss the Amstel Light Burger Bash and the Whole Foods Market Grand Tasting Village. I have to admit I'm a bit sad that the Bubble Q is no longer part of the festival but I'm sure that I'll find a suitable alternative. Stay tuned for more suggestions next month!
