               Words With Wings 2011

Two weeks, 50 campers, beautiful prose and poems.

Trips to the river with the Watershed Education Network

and visits to the Montana Museum of Art and Culture.

Don't miss Words With Wings next July!

Here are some selections from the 2011 Anthology

(forthcoming):

Koessler Tolleson Knee

Fly Pole

Invisibility itself whips through the air

welded to a fly that is happy when bitten.

Green cord with a mind of its own

hooks onto invisibility's tail

for a better view

of the monster with gills and fins

that might be dinner.

Fiberglass trees committed for life

to helping the fly and its procession

married to it by silver rings.

When the wheel stops turning

all wait

for a fish to fall

for the bait.

Finn Krutek

Rocks

I am a rock
an old crickity, jagged rock.
I am one and a half billion years old.
I bash through the water
smashing into other rocks
without saying, "excuse me" or
"sorry." I have a job.
The water is my boss.

He can take us
wherever. He carries
us rocks with his
tentacle-like arms, slapping
us around. I have
told you my story
so now it is time to go.
But I have one last thing to say...
Rocks are always on the move!
