Do The Write Thing
Finalists from Hellgate Middle School
Four students from Hellgate Middle School -- (l.to r.) Allison Otten, Kayla Weishaar, Destiny Fowler, and Michael Nelson (with his younger sister, a fan) --were honored in the rotunda of the Montana State Capitol in Helena on April 12.  The four were finalists in the writing competiton Do the Write Thing, sponsored by the Montana Board of Crime Control and the National Council to Stop Violence. Michael Nelson was announced as a grand winner of the national competition. He will be honored in Washington, D.C. in July.  Congratulations, Michael. The students all wrote about the impact of violence on their lives.  They study creative writing with MWC Artistic Director Sheryl Noethe.
