Dascom helps Integra Telecom become first facilities-based video competitor in Minneapolis Metro Area Integra now offers triple-play of voice, Internet and video
|
Integra Telecom, Inc. ("Integra") is a
facilities-based, integrated communications carrier, dedicated to providing a
better choice of communications services in eleven western states including
Minnesota. Mary Korthour, General
Manager of the local Integra operating company in Prior Lake, MN, knew she
needed to offer a triple-play bundle and that if she offered such a package she
had a ready customer base.
Integra called on Dascom Systems
Group for a video solution and launched video services to their Minnesota subscribers this month.
"After talking
with about ten telcos we realized
Dascom was the common theme for companies that had successfully deployed
a
video product."- Mary Korthour, General Manager
Larry Shepard, Director of
Operations at Integra, and Korthour knew they needed to fully understand the
complexities of this new venture for Integra.
"We had so many vendors trying to sell us hardware. Dascom was different, they offered proven
solutions," stated Shepard. Korthour
noted, "From the onset, we identified that Dascom shared our philosophy of
supporting the customer and the customer's needs."
Launching a facilities-based video solution in the
Minneapolis and St. Paul metro area is a sizeable project. The planning, launching and implementation
phases have equal importance."We feel
confident that Dascom is part of the team.
Not just to plan and launch, but for the long-haul of implementation and
success."
For Integra in Prior Lake, MN, video solutions start and
continue with Dascom.

Dascom is Audiovisual Partner to Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College for more than 10 Years WITC keeps its 7 locations connected and also connects to statewide Wisconsin BadgerNet | |
The instructors and students at Wisconsin Indianhead
Technical College (WITC) are probably not aware of the countless hours and
precise integration of the technology required to make it possible for students
in Rice Lake, Wisconsin, to take a course on Occupational Therapy with the
instructor in Superior, Wisconsin. The faculty and staff may not fully realize
that audiovisual technology makes it possible to save extensive corporate
overhead expenses and windshield time travel for a two-hour meeting. Wayne Erdman, the Instructional Television Specialist at WITC, makes sure it stays that way. That's not their job, that's his job. Connecting classrooms, campuses and conference rooms is his responsibility. How does he do it? He does it with a dedicated staff and with Dascom Systems Group.
"Dascom has been part of my team for nearly 10 years keeping WITC current with the latest AV technology. Dascom's quality products, customer service and product support are what keeps the students learning, the instructors teaching and the school administration communicating." - Wayne Erdman, ITV Specialist, WITC
Wayne leads a team that ensures that the AV
technology and distance learning tools are properly customized to create a
realistic "in the room experience."
Seamless integration allowing for collaboration keeps eager students
literally coming back for more and instructors able to share knowledge on a
scale not otherwise attainable. The
location of students and instructors is no longer a limitation or a barrier to
educate with distance learning. WITC's
seven locations are all connected. These tools are for the administration as well. Faculty and staff in remote and other
off-campus locations connect in an efficient manner that has a positive impact
on the bottom line. "Dascom is not our vendor, Dascom is our partner. I don't know of a company that can match
Dascom's support." - Wayne Erdman
