Recently, seven Dascom employees received their certification from the  International Communications Industries Association (ICIA) as a Certified Technology Specialist (CTS).
Dascom Systems Group Names Dave Hattey New Chief Executive OfficerDave Hattey Picture
Bringing 28 years of technology and leadership experience, Dave Hattey joins Dascom with a background ranging from small business to Fortune 100 enterprise and spanning the entire value chain including end user, reseller, operator and OEM.

Dave brings expertise in telecom, education and state/local procurements to the CEO position through his past executive careers at General Electric, 3Com, EFJohnson Company and Ericsson, Inc.

"I'm excited to be back in the systems integration business and to be working on the video side of IP," Hattey said. "I'm honored to lead the Dascom team and look forward to meeting customers and partners over the next few weeks."

Dave earned his bachelor's degrees in electrical engineering and computer engineering from the University of Michigan, and holds a master's degree in business administration from Duke's Fuqua School of Business. He holds 11 patents in various communication protocols and technologies.

Avail Media and Dascom Systems Group Join Forces to offer IPTV Services
Dascom has joined the sales channel partner program of Avail Media, an aggregator and provider of both linear and video on demand (VOD) MPEG-4 IPTV content, and now has its first joint affiliate customer for IPTV services with Avail Media through Valley Telephone Cooperative, Inc. out of Raymondville, Texas.

By partnering with Avail, Dascom will now be able to offer services as a systems integrator for Avail Media deployments for new affiliates- as well as those transitioning from other service providers, such as SES Americom's IP-PRIME platform (from which Valley Telephone is converting its transport solution).

Dascom reaches Premier Partner Status with Cisco and is welcomed into the Cisco Service Provider Video Partner InitiativeCisco Logo
The Cisco Premier Partnership recognizes and rewards partners that have achieved the Express Foundation Specialization, achieving technical competency in the integration of basic routing and switching, wireless LANs, and security technologies. Premier Certified Partners like Dascom have integrated a basic level of Cisco Lifecycle Services into their offerings and have demonstrated a measurably high level of customer satisfaction.

In addition, Dascom has been welcomed into Cisco's Service Provider Video Partner Initiative (SP VPI), a program for Cisco's channel partner community aimed at creating an experienced and proactive network of SP video partners to help Cisco jointly expand the number of service providers using Cisco video solutions.

Dascom enters the program because of a demonstrated history of successfully doing business with service providers and demonstrated expertise in system integration, installation and project management. As a Cisco partner, Dascom has authorization to sell Cisco product and service offerings, as well offer SP support. Subsequently, three Dascom employees have received their Cisco certifications- with a CCNA, CCDA and CSE currently on staff at Dascom.
