New AV System at Nebraska Department of Roads Meets the MarkNDOR Operations Center
Nebraska Department of Roads (NDOR) in Gering, Nebraska, approached Dascom looking for an AV system that would be easy to operate and that would enable them to securely transmit video information (maps, weather information, emergency operations plans) from an operations center room to the building's two conference rooms.

In response, Dascom integrated a system that positions the operations center as the secure information distribution center NDOR was looking for (and the only NDOR room able to originate sensitive information), while still keeping the basic room control design of both the operations room and conference rooms consistent so that system users can move between rooms and conduct meetings/presentations without needing a tutorial on the system.

The integrated AV system is simple, professional and is operating how we had envisioned," said Scott Clinger, NDOR IT Supervisor. "I wanted to make sure the system was easy to operate for other agencies and third parties that come in and use the equipment, and this system has done that."

The centerpiece of the project is the operations room, which includes a large projection screen, two LCD displays, several computer stations and a multimedia wall outlet for laptop or additional media inputs.  Each conference room system includes a touch panel control system, podium, display device (either a large projector or plasma television), and coordinating video sources including cable television, computers and DVD/VHS media.
