More About Us
Season's Greetings from Bill Wolff and Dascom Systems Dascom CEO Bill WolffGroup
As we step from one year into a new year, it's time to take a quick look at where we have been and where we are going. 2007 was a very good year for Dascom, with growth in all segments of our business. New technologies are allowing our customers to do things that either couldn't be done before or previously were too cost-prohibitive.

In 2007, Dascom has seen a 33% growth in the number of employees, along with strong growth in revenue. We continue to strive to provide our customers with the best service and a fair price. As we look into 2008, we see continued strong growth. The IPTV market will experience a lot of growth this year while the AV market will continue to expand. At Dascom, we will work hard at keeping our focus on the customer by providing outstanding service and high quality results.

I wish you a very happy and prosperous 2008.
-Bill Wolff, Dascom CEO
IPTV Project Highlight: Dascom integration at Etex in Gilmer, Texas
Etex Simulsat Photo
Earlier this year, Etex Telephone Cooperative approached Dascom for help in converting their local stations to digital, with failover back to analog. The request came with a number of challenges and it was apparent an exceptional product would be needed.

At the Etex site, the TVRO equipment was located about two miles from their main encoder. With limited space and fiber at the local off-air pick-up site, Dascom settled on Tandberg and its IPlex product to meet this challenge. By implementing the IPlex, Dascom was able to free up fiber for Etex and allow them to encode at the highest quality with a limited amount of rack space in a confined area.

More specifically, using the IPlex enabled Etex to encode the channels at that site, and ride a single fiber to their core video router. In essence, the IPlex was able to accomplish encoding all 8 channels in a single rack mount unit.
