2012 DISABILITY ACCESS TRAINING!

 

2012 DAT Audience

To all those who attended this year's 2012 Disability Access Training, we at DCAB would like to thank you for taking the time from your busy schedule's to join us on March 28th & 29th at the Ala Moana Hotel. This year, there were 253 people registered for the training on the new 2010 ADA Standards presented by Ms. Earlene Sesker and Mr. Paul Beatty of the U.S. Access Board.

In addition to the training on the 2010 ADA Standards, Ms. Sesker presented the Access Board's Proposed Rule on Medical Diagnostic Equipment to over 70 people at The Queen's Conference Center on March 29th. Mahalo to The Queen's Medical Center for the use of their conference center.

That same afternoon, Mr. Beatty presented an overview of the Proposed Public Rights-of-Way Accessibility Guidelines to over 90 individuals at the Department of Transportation's Conference Center in the Interisland Terminal at Honolulu International Airport. Mahalo also to DOT for the use of their facilities.

DCAB extends their heartfelt "thank you" to both Earlene and Paul for all their hard work in putting the various presentations together. We know how much time and effort went into preparing their material.  We appreciate the continued support of the Access Board in helping us to put on these training events; the Access Board even printed and shipped all the handouts for each of the presentations.  Thank you Access Board!!


We would also like to thank the U.S. Department of Justice; they provided the 2 reference books distributed at this year's training. "Thank you DOJ!"
