
10th Anniversary Season Shapes Up As Most Competitive In Club History
The Marysville Gold Sox (Horizon Air Summer Series) announced today that they will open their 10th anniversary season on May 24th against the Chico Pirates. The 47 game schedule shapes up to be the most competitive in the clubs history.
Under sixth year manager Jack Johnson, the 2012 Gold Sox will host 10 clubs that visited Marysville in 2011 and 8 new visitors.
The club will have two road dates this year as they travel to Arcata, California to renew their rivalry with the Humboldt Crabs.
In addition to the 47 game schedule, the Gold Sox will host the third annual Alumni Game featuring past Gold Sox stars on May 23.
In winning their second Horizon Air Summer Series title in 6 years, the Gold Sox went 32-8 in Horizon Air Summer Series play and 40-8 overall in 2011.
Returning to Marysville in 2012 will be the Califonia Glory, Chico Pirates, Neptune Beach Pearl, Redding Colt 45's, Sacramento Legends, Nor Cal Longhorns, Seattle Studs, Nevada Bighorns, Auburn Wildcats and the Walnut Creek Crawdads.
Clubs who were absent in 2011 or are making their first trip to Marysville in 2012 are the Sacramento Scorch, Sonoma Seals, San Francisco Seagulls, Menlo Park Legends, Petaluma Top Speed, San Luis Obispo Rattlers, United States Military All Stars and Solano Mudcats.
