Redistricting Issue Heard Tomorrow 8:30 AM!!!

Your voice counts. The plan would move the southern boundary of CD 4 all the way up to Franklin. What happens on Hollywood Blvd regarding zoning, planning, construction, development and more impacts all of us north of Franklin. The southern boundary should be right down the center of Hollywood Blvd so that we can have a voice in what takes place there. Please, I know this is last minute notice and who knew that the Rules, Elections, and Intergovernmental Relations Cmte would be hearing this? Please try to be there. Here's the info from the hearing agenda (call 213-485-3337 NOW to ask for parking at City Hall):

Save Hollywood!

Welcome to People for Livable Communities! Our Save Hollywood - Save L.A. campaign is here to let you know what the city is doing and how you can make a difference. Your presence at hearings and town hall meetings just may turn this tide. The new Hollywood Community Plan has some serious flaws that could, if passed, change Hollywood forever. People for Livable Communities are concerned Angelenos united in a mission to save Hollywood from the new Hollywood Community Plan. The plan disregards the safety and interests of LA residents while catering to the profits of developers.

Go to our website. On the right are two new posts; the new Determination Letter and the newly released Findings. Please take a look at these and other documents that we have posted for you. And send your friends and neighbors to our site: SaveHollywood.org. Tell them to enter their email address so they too can receive up to the minute breaking news. For more information, please send email to info@savehollywood.org.

Mt Lee Roadwork Update

Heavy Equipment will be back on Mulholland Drive near the Hollywood Sign on Monday March 5th.

As work continues to repair the washed-out portion of Mt. Lee Drive near the Hollywood Sign, project managers will have to re-close Mulholland Highway between Mt.Hollywood Drive and Deronda Drive for another day on Monday 03/05/12.  During this additional day, trucks will be continuously hauling export material away from repairs that are ongoing at Mt. Lee.  A large number of pedestrians, equestrians, bikers and hikers use this dirt road every day.  For their safety, the many trails leading to this stretch of Mulholland Highway will be closed to the public and secured from foot traffic, so that the emergency contractor can have the sole use of the road during Monday, March 5th from 6:30 AM to 2:00 PM.

In the meantime -- meaning Friday March 2nd and Saturday and Sunday, March 3rd and 4th -- Mulholland Highway will be open as usual.  It'll be a beautiful weekend, so get out there and enjoy it!
