On the evening of January 27, 2012, a washout of Mt. Lee Drive developed approximately 1/5 of a mile northeast of the intersection of the Mulholland Highway and Deronda Drive in the Hollywood Hills, near the HOLLYWOOD Sign.
The road became impassable and was closed to vehicular traffic. Since this section of the road is essential to providing access to the Mt. Lee Communications Center (one of the City's major emergency communication facilities), the City Council took immediate emergency action, allocating the funds and getting the roadway repaired as a matter of urgent necessity.

Regional Budget and Finance Committee Hearings
Below is the list of the Regional Budget and Finance Committee Hearings which begin next week on March 7th through March 28th, 2012. All meetings begin at 6pm.
These regional meetings will provide an opportunity for members of the public to express their priorities and issues regarding the 2012-2013 Budget for the City of Los Angeles. There are four "on the road" committee meetings.
Shortly these meetings will be posted on the City's website.
