Evening @ the Barn

presents a Hollywoodland evening at the Hollywood Heritage Museum 

on Sunday June 5, 2011 at 7:00 p.m.   

 

It's one of the world's most famous signs (minus its last four original letters today). See rare 1923 footage of the Hollywoodland sign and a clip reel of films shot in Beachwood Canyon and Hollywoodland. Hollywood Heritage board member and Tolucan Times theatre critic Mary Mallory presents a Power Point slide presentation of rare photos from her newly-released book, Hollywoodland, part of Arcadia Publishing's Images of America series. Hollywoodland artifacts will also be on display in the museum's lobby.

 

Ms. Mallory will also be signing copies of her Hollywoodland book for $21.99 each so attendees can be among the first to get it.

Evening @ The Barn

presents JANE WITHERS - in person

on Wednesday June 8, 2011 at 7:30 p.m.

 

From child star in the 1930s to popular TV commercials character "Josephine the Plumber" for Comet cleanser in the 1960s and 70s, to voice-over work and guest appearances today, Jane Withers - who just celebrated her 85th birthday -- has spent her life in show business.

   

Jane will join us for a special retrospective on her career, filled with film clips, anecdotes and personal remembrances. She will also sign autographs and take photographs with her fans.

 

A selection of Jane Wither's memorabilia will be on display in the museum lobby for this event, which promises to be a truly special evening.

Hoop Revolution Monthly Workshop

Woman's club of Hollywood 

Hoop Revolution's own Anah aka Hoopalicious will be in L.A. for the first of many monthly LA Hoop Dance workshops! If you have never taken a Hoop Revolution class before please come to the free 30-minute intro to get acquainted with the special, highly effective techniques used in the Hoop Revolution curriculum. Our techniques will get you hooping all over your body quickly and relatively painlessly. If you are an advanced hooper, let our techniques tighten up your own and increase your flow 10 fold!

In the first half we will awaken the body, sharpen the senses and increase our flow with a multitude of core hooping and dance techniques designed to erase the line between hoop and body, creating one seamless dance.
Open to all levels.

In the second half, we will learn advanced trick technique with a focus on dance. Allow your tricks to become fully integrated into your hoop flow as we get your pesky brain out of the game. I will guide you through a tried a true process to step into the "hoop zone" and magnify your hoop pleasure.
