The Issue: Public Safety ~ The Answer: This Sign at Deronda and Ledgewood

The Sign at Ledgewood at Deronda relieved the public safety issue that usually results from tourist gridlock on that dead end street (Deronda Drive). When the new board of the HHA decided to remove all the signs, this vital one was included. Last weekend, after the sign removal, the situation on Deronda became chaotic, frustrating to law enforcement, neighbors and also upsetting to disappointed tourists. It was and will be again a very dangerous situation for emergency response should there be a sudden need for it. Please check out the BCNA website for more info, photos and a video. Please consider writing a letter to the Hollywood United Neighborhood Council's Public Safety & Transportation Committee as they will be looking into this serious situation this coming Monday (see below for email addresses and meeting information).

Monday, March 21, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. at the 7^th Day Adventist Church, 1711 N. Van Ness - plenty of parking.

The gridlock at the dead end of Deronda has returned due to the recent removal of the sign at Deronda and Ledgewood that used to direct traffic up Ledgewood, through our neighborhood to the Scenic View above Lake Hollywood Park.

The Beachwood Canyon Neighborhood Association is asking HUNC to authorize the reinstallation of that particular sign and hopefully some supporting signs to make sure that tourists don't feel compelled to stop along the route to the Scenic View.

Please attend this meeting and share your concerns - no matter which side of this issue you find yourself, your voice is important in this serious and vital matter of public safety.
