TopWelcome to Beachwood Canyon Neighborhood Association

Greetings!

This Wednesday, February 3rd, at 10 a.m. neighbors will gather downtown to offer their feelings about having a huge cell tower placed in the neighborhood on Beachwood Drive. Please read all about it and make a way to attend this important hearing. Dash Bus 208 hearings are just around the corner and there's even a workshop on the DWP budget coming up. Check out the free puppies. Also, dig deep to donate to our local shelters - they need food for abandoned and homeless dogs and cats.

Soon, Beachwood Canyon Neighborhood Assn will hold its annual meeting (delayed for a whole lot of reasons). By then, you will have received your membership renewal notices. We hope you will write your checks and inspire your neighbors to do the same. We're looking out for the entire canyon and we need your support.

For more information or to volunteer, please contact us at 323-462-1514 or write to info@beachwoodcanyon.org.

Special Rider Alert - DASH 208 Report

drbJune2509Los Angeles Department of Transportation will hold public hearings to discuss proposed service cuts and fare increases.

A few months ago, news broke of the potential loss of our DASH bus 208. This is the second time the low ridership has caused the City to take a closer look at our only local bus. In a meeting in Councilman Labonge's office recently, neighborhood leaders were told that Labonge would support an effort to combine the 208 DASH bus with the Hollywood/Wilshire bus and alter the southern route to go through Larchmont. Fare increases were also discussed and the neighbors asked for expanded hours to make the bus more useful to our community.

Please consider attending one of these hearings to share your concerns. Here's a link to the list of hearings:

http://beachwoodcanyon.org/DASH%20Page.htm

To see the proposed changes, go to ladottransit.com. If you cannot attend a hearing and wish to provide testimony, comments or suggestions, you may do so until the end of the Public Hearing Process on March 3, 2010 as follows:
