Greetings!

This is just an update, a missing cat alert and an invitation to a local animal blessing. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Gower Power Pole Update
gowerpowerpoles
As you already know, this project was planned for Gower from Franklin to Graciosa to answer energy needs in the canyon. We found out about it when they shut down the area below Scenic one day. Tim was good enough to ask questions and my phone started ringing. Long story short, we had a meeting with some neighbors and the upper LADWP staff. (the City Council office is also involved and responsible for getting the LADWP and the neighbors in dialog.) They are taking the design back to the original designer. New designers are looking at it with an eye to modify it so that they can accomplish what they need to, remain within code, and at the same time, NOT impact the views that make our neighborhood unique. The LADWP asked that I be the conduit for info to make things simple and to keep their lines open so they can do their work.

I spoke to Roy (LADWP) this morning. They are working on some ways to make this happen and have some parts and equipment to be bought and ordered. They are not planning on sending any crews up there until this new design is complete and approved and we have been notified. They will keep us informed and I will call periodically for updates as well.

If any of your neighbors have concerns, please have them call me 323-462-1514 or my cell 323-610-1967 or send email to get added to our growing list of interested neighbors.

Thanks for your patience. If this works out, we have you neighbors to thank for working with the City, and the City to thank for being flexible and sensitive to the needs of the community.

P.S. Wouldn't it be great if our canyon converted to solar energy? I know it's expensive and not all the bugs are out of solar power but I'm dreaming of that day.
