Louisiana Office of Tourism - Lt. Governor Jay Dardenne is currently in search for a new Assistant Secretary for the Division of Tourism within the La. Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism. State Tourism Director Jim Hutchison resigned on November 11. 

 

"Best of the Road" street signage is scheduled to be installed within the next few weeks throughout Lafayette. Approximately 40 signs will be placed at strategic locations throughout the city. "Best of the Road" window stickers have been distributed to LCVC members to be placed on their business doors throughout the city. Additional window stickers are available at LCVC. 

 

Planning continues for Louisiana Bicentennial events for Lafayette and throughout the state. The Lafayette model is currently being touted by the Bicentennial Commission as the "go to plan" for cities to participate in this event.
