Available for review is the calendar of Louisiana Bicentennial activities scheduled in Lafayette. Also, one of the kick-off events for the Bicentennial took place October 15 as part of Festivals Acadiens et Creole. Lt. Governor Jay Dardenne and General Honoré were in attendance at the kick-off.

Window stickers of "Best of the Road" for restaurants, hotels and other attractions have been ordered and should be delivered soon and the Lamar billboards on the interstates are currently advertising the "Best of the Road".

Burrelle's/LUCE has calculated that the equivalent ad costs for articles run on Acadiana in the United States during 2011 had a value of $3,918,590.

The September/October 2011 issue of Bank Travel Management Magazine had an article entitled "Forks in the Road-Foods Define These Distinctive Stops" and featured Cajun food in Lafayette.
