It's a busy month for NPCA Global Education

Back-to-school is always a busy time at NPCA, but especially so this year.
  • Expos:  You've been hearing about them. Our final two Third Goal Expos - focused on global education - are now here: this Saturday in Providence, RI and next Saturday in Pasadena, CA.  If you are in the area, please plan to attend one of these free events for resources and stories you can bring into your classroom.  Know teachers in the areas around the Expos?  Please tell them to come.  They are free!  See below for details or visit our website.
  • WorldView magazine:  The fall issue is about to mail and you won't want to miss this issue.  Angene Wilson's lesson plan will be posted to coincide with the publication.  What's this?  Her lesson is about fracking?  Look for the magazine in your mailbox then check online for her lesson.  Don't get the magazine?  Join or subscribe now!
  • Newsletter:  Editor Susan Neyer is pulling together the fall issue, coming out shortly.  Want to receive it as soon as it comes out?  You guessed it!  Join now!

Thank you for all that you do to bring the world into classrooms and communities.  Please share your stories, lesson plans and resources with us so that we can share them with all of you!

Peace Corps Third Goal Expos Focus on Global Education

NPCA and Peace Corps are kicking off the next 50 years of Peace Corps by focusing on the "third goal" of Peace Corps:  bringing the world back home.  One way we are doing this is through a series of four Third Goal Expos - events open to the Peace Corps community and the general public, but with a special focus on resources for educators.  These expos will showcase the countries and cultures where Peace Corps Volunteers have served and highlight Volunteers' experiences and projects.  The Expos will feature Peace Corps' Speakers Match, Correspondence Match, and Coverdell World Wise Schools programs and showcase ways that educators and returned Volunteers can share Peace Corps experiences in classrooms and communities.

These are a great - and fun! - way to start out your academic year! You'll find the complete program and link to register (for free!) from these links.

All expos are free and open to the public.  See you there!
