School-to-School Program

Posted by Request:

Partners for Communal Development, Inc is a Non-profit Corporation formed by RPCV'S in 2010. In 2008 Bob Tatgenhorst ( Peru '69-72 ) and John O'Brien ( Peru '62-'64, '70 ) visited several school sites in Peru, on the northern coast near Casma. The design and construction of these schools after the earthquake of 1970, formed the major part of their Peace Corps disaster relief service.

During their return visit they decided to form a non-profit, non-governmental, corporation, to further assist the pueblos in which the schools are located, with the hope of expanding this work into other areas both in Peru and other countries.  These school projects were funded as part of a joint Peace Corps / US AID School to School program. If anyone might have any knowledge of, or ideas about, how they might locate the various US schools that participated in that school to school program, and share it with them, as this would be of assistance in furthering their work.  All interested parties please visit their website / homepage at http://pcd-sdc.org .  If you have any information, suggestions and/or comments, please contact them and leave a message at info@pcd-sdc.org.
