Senate Co-Sponsors of Peace Corps Legislation Start to Rise
Majority Leader Harry Reid (NV) and fellow Senators Kirsten Gillibrand (NY) and Jay Rockefeller (WV) are the latest co-sponsors of the Peace Corps Improvement and Expansion Act (S. 1382), legislation introduced by RPCV Senator Chris Dodd (Dominican Republic 66-68).
Along with authorizing a doubling of funding for Peace Corps over the next three years, the legislation would require a strategic assessment to address a number of matters that are viewed as key to advancing the Peace Corps. We need more co-sponsors! Follow this link for a letter writing action. Alternatively, you can call the U.S. Capitol toll free (877-851-6437), ask to be connected to the office of your Senator and leave this message: "I'm calling to urge Senator ____ to become a co-sponsor of the Peace Corps Improvement and Expansion Act." first three co-sponsors of the bill. Take action with your Senators to build support for this legislation.
