44 years ago (August 27) I was born in St Mary's hospital in Walla Walla, on Saint Monica's Day.
20 years ago (September 7) Mark and I were married in a chapel in Lake Tahoe, NV.
6 years ago (July 11) I quit my law enforcement job of 15 years with no real plan as to where I was headed.
And here I am. There are over 16,000 more dates between my first day and this one, and they are each an important step in my path, and I am grateful for every one of them.
I hope that you enjoy each step of your own path and I thank you for supporting ours along your way!
Things do not always work out as we hope and we adapt. For instance dinner service never caught on and we have decided, after 5 weeks of hard work, we are going to let it go for now. Thank you to those who gave it a try! We will try something else another time, we have lots of ideas in the proofer!
As August is progressing there are outdoor concerts, festivals, markets, fairs and more to do, so get out and enjoy this Fabulous Place We Live!

All of us at Monica's love animals and we know that most of you do, too. There are a few organizations that we know of in Kitsap, and they all help our animal friends in different ways. They also all need our ongoing support to continue the work that they do, through donations of money, goods and volunteers. Here are the ones we know of for you to check out. If we missed any, please let us know!
