The frogs are singing and I love that sound!
It announces to me that Spring is all around and I enjoy watching other wildlife clues unfold in my yard.
Back near the bird sanctuary it is a very busy birdy world, where even the mallards fly in for a daily visit this time of year. I know I will soon see our front yard rabbits nibbling the grass and the wood ducks will eventually be perched in the trees.
We get the less pleasant reminders of Spring as well, like coming home to 50 ants in the kitchen on Friday night! Mark sweet-talked them into going away and staying outside, and so far we have only had a couple of rebels try to come in through the back door again.

Saturday April 2: The first Farmers Market of the season opens in Gig Harbor! Check out a schedule of markets with links HERE. Come see Mark at the Silverdale Farmers Market on Tuesdays from 11-4.

Saturday April 16, 2 pm: Story Time at Monica's
Spring has Sprung and we will have a Spring-theme Story Time, upstairs at the cafe. There is no cost, all children must be tended by an adult, and all adults should really be in touch with their inner child!
Appropriate Saturday attire is encouraged: brightly colored tutus, sparkly outfits, and silly hats are in!

The week before Easter (April 24): We will have Beautifully Decorated Cookies, Edible Easter Baskets, Hot Cross Buns, and other holiday goodies.

Thursday April 28: Our annual fundraiser where all YOU have to do is enjoy our fabulous food!
We will donate a percentage of the day's sales to Kitsap County HIV AIDS Foundation, through the Lifelong Aids Alliance!
Friday April 29, 4-6:30 pm Friday Night Wine Down! Get your wine on! Wind down your week and Wind up your weekend by tasting some wines and light snacks. It's the best deal around!
There is no cost, though we do encourage donations for the food bank.
This 5k fun run and walk is sponsored by Leadership Kitsap Project Team 2. All proceeds will go directly to Bremerton's Rescue Mission, which exists to deliver help and hope to the homeless and poor in the Bremerton and surrounding areas.
A post-race celebration including BBQ and drawings for prizes will be held at the park. There is no pre-registration, just show up at 8 am and sign up for this fun event! Entry fees are $15 for the race and $10 for a t-shirt if you want one.
