There are three hundred and sixty-four days when you might get un-birthday presents ... and only one for birthday presents, you know.
- Lewis Carroll
While I love many of Lewis Carroll's writings, I am going to prove this quote to be incorrect!
On Friday Monica's will make it TWO days that you can get birthday presents!
I LOVE to celebrate birthdays-it's why you get a whole month to come in and celebrate yours!
I particularly love to celebrate my own birthday, because I am so very happy to be here!
Friday, August 27 is my 43rd birthday and I am going to have a party all day long!
We will be celebrating life, sharing a joyous day with friends & family (that's you!) and giving gifts to everyone who comes in to the cafe that day.
Happy Monica's Birthday!

You may be thinking "How can I help?"
Here is one small way:
AMERICAN FARMLAND TRUST AT THE TABLE FOR DINE OUT FOR FARMS WEEK OCTOBER 10-16
Monica's will be participating in American Farmland Trust’s inaugural Dine Out for Farms week!
Join Monica's Waterfront Bakery & Cafe at the table as we Dine Out for Farms in a week-long event to raise funds and awareness for American Farmland Trust’s programs that support farms and help save the land that sustains us.
Just like our "Dining Out For Life", all you have to do is come in and enjoy our great food! We will donate a percentage of our sales that week to this fabulous cause!
“By participating in the October Dine Out for Farms event, restaurants and diners will help American Farmland Trust raise the visibility of a critical issue—that just as the chef depends on a variety of food to create their dishes, farmland is a necessary ingredient for our nation’s farmers,” says Jane Kirchner, Senior Director of Marketing and Communications for AFT. “Most of the small farms in this country are located around urban areas, and 86 percent of our country’s fruits and vegetables are grown in urban fringe areas. Those are the same farms that are most at risk from sprawling development and a host of other challenges.”
“At AFT, we’re committed to keeping farms economically viable and using good practices on the land, and providing landowners with tools to keep their land in farming. Dining out is among the many ways consumers can support a healthy future for agriculture and a healthier future for their communities.”
