Summer is in full swing and I am loving this beautiful place we live. The weather is great, the scenery cannot be beat and we are in the heart of our summer bounty. Farmer's markets are in full swing and I hope you are able to get out to visit at least one a week. Many of our local farmer's markets accept EBT and debit/credit cards and even if the market doesn't, often the vendors do, all you have to do is ask.
Mark has been selling his bread, cookies and a few other items at the Silverdale Farmer's Market on Tuesdays, over at the Waterfront Park parking lot. He is loving his job as he chats up the folks and hangs out in the sunshine, enjoying the market atmosphere. He would love it if you stopped by to say 'hi'!

August 1 is Lori's birthday! Since we are all going to be at Finn River Farm & Cidery that day, she chose Friday to celebrate with you. Come in and taste her favorite daily specials and she has commanded that I make her favorite pasta: Fresh tomato pesto! She will be queen for the day, come in and enjoy her rule!
Tickets are on sale for An Evening in the Gardens, an event at the Port Orchard Nursery on August 14th, from 5-8 p.m.
King 5 television personality and Master Gardener, Ciscoe Morris is our guest speaker for the evening.
There will be a wonderfully catered buffet, a no-host bar, silent auction and a delicious dessert auction to benefit South Kitsap Helpline Food Bank.
