As you are reading this Mark and I are on our way to Italy! You probably know by now that we are hosting an 8 day food and wine tour through Tuscany & Umbria and we are taking 18 people with us on this adventure.
Our flight took off today at 1:50 pm and we will land in Florence tomorrow at 12:10 pm (We will be 9 hours ahead of you so it will be 3:10 in the morning here). I am hoping to have a mobile internet connection by the end of the day.
That means you can go to Italy with us, virtually! Follow along on the adventure through our blog as we update our adventures each day! We WILL find a way to update the blog regularly, even if my plans for internet connection do not work out as I hope.
Check out this year's Itinerary here and while you are enjoying dreaming about it, you can start saving up for next year's trip!
We will be going to Tuscany for 4 days and then Piedmont where we will visit the Slow Food University! I will have the details on the web site soon, though you can reserve your spot now if you want to.
We will be back on the 17th and we will have many stories for you! Until then...
Ciao!!

You may be thinking 'how can I help?'
Here is one small way:
It is that time of year again. It is getting colder already and Monica's is helping the 'Taking It To The Streets!' Ministries to collect sleeping bags for their homeless outreach program. Bring us your gently used or brand new bags and we will get them delivered to our neighbors who need them most. We will also take your cast-off clothing that is clean and in good repair. Check out our web page for other donation ideas!
Our nation's economic situation has hit home in our community and we are seeing at least a 60% increase in the numbers of people who are asking for help...and it is not even Winter yet.
All types of people, including professionals, working families, veterans, students, and so many others, have never had to ask for help before. You know them. They are your neighbors, co-workers, friends and even your family. Unemployment, increased costs of living, and other unexpected and unfortunate occurrences have burdened more of us than ever.
To donate a used sleeping bag, we require that is clean, and that the zipper or buttons to be functional. If it is new, 20 degrees and below would be ideal, however we will take any temperature rating.
If you would like to make a monetary contribution of $20.00, it will go towards the purchase of a sleeping bag from K-mart or Big 5, both of whom are giving the outreach program a deal.
All donation are tax deductible; they are listed as a 501c3 Non-Profit Charitable Corporation.
You can bring your cash and checks in to us for delivery, or you can mail them to:

Please forward this email to everyone you know who can help. After all, everybody needs a little help now and then.
