Antonio Sanguineti Is Coming to Monica's!

Wednesday June 24, One Hour Only: Noon-1pm

He is an opera lover, race car driver and superior wine maker from the Tuscan region of Italy, and we have him here for 1 hour, thanks to Doumina Whyman's Small Vineyards Travel!

Antonio will talk about his wines, Small Vineyards Travel, and autograph bottles of wine for you.

We will pour free samples of his wines for all to enjoy while he is here.

Don't miss this rare opportunity! We are the only place where you can see Anthony AND to buy his wines on this side of the Sound! His other engagements in this region are only in Seattle!

***************************************

Nessun Dorma is a lovely, drinkable blend of 50% Sangiovese, 30% Merlot and 20% Syrah. It is named for Antonio's favorite Aria, and this will be one of your favorite wines. With vines carefully selected from all around Toscana, including Sangiovese from Capraia e Limite (Montalbano), Merlot from Gavorrano (Grosseto), and Syrah from Suvereto (Livorno), the Maestro has made a true “Super Tuscan”. The Merlot
is intensely floral and elegant, while the Sangiovese is fresh and bright. The Syrah adds depth and body, offering a bold expression of forest-floor truffle, ripe cherry and blackberry preserves. A harmonious, beautiful wine from one of Tuscany’s most beloved wine personalities.

Sanguineti Caruso, 2007 is a "Super Italian" blend of 16% Corvina, 4% Rondinella, 20% Nero d’Avola, 50% Sangiovese, and 10% Syrah. He only produced 500 cases of this amazing wine and quite simply one of the most interesting wines we've ever tried, and one of the most delicious! Caruso is visionary. Indeed, for what we believe is the first time in history, Antonio Sanguineti has brought together three of his closest amici: Giuseppe Lonardi in Valpolicella, Alessandro Bocci in Tuscany, and Giuseppe Martorana in Sicily, to make a single wine from the three major zones of Italy. This is a "baby Amarone" meets "baby Super Tuscan" meets Sicilian Nero d'Avola. It is Fantastico!
