A June sonnet begins: "O queenly month of indolent repose!" ...It sounds so relaxing! And so begins the 'Lazy Days of Summer'. School's out, dads are in, and weddings are abloom. (After all, our 6th month is the namesake of the Roman Goddess of marriage, Junno.) Summer solstice
will begin
to shorten the days
even as we wind up for summer
heat.
Never fear, June is notoriously kind and always seems grayer than it actually is.
It's a good month to get out and explore this fabulous place we live!

What's Happenin, Hot Stuff?
We will all be busy this month with graduations, Father's Day, and just getting into the swing of summer, and here are a few more fun things in case you
want something more to do:
- June 3 begins our 1st annual Celebration of CSA Wednesdays! Monica's will have recipes featuring seasonal, local produce available to everyone who wants them. You can pick up the ingredients at the local farmer's markets, and for all CSA members we will have other special offers as well!
- Wanna try fishing? Crabbing? What about digging some clams and grabbing oysters off the beach for a fabulous meal? Free Fishing Weekend is June 6 & 7. You don't need any licenses or vehicle permits (other laws & limits do apply) to fish and collect shellfish! Grab some produce at the farmer's market and eat like royalty! Last year I blogged about this here.
- The Old Town Art Walk is Friday, June 12. Stroll the local businesses displaying fabulous art by local artists and take advantage of some fun promotions. We are once again offering cookies and tastes of our house wines for donations to the food bank.
- Our next Friday Night Wine Down wine tasting is Friday June 19. Come in any time from 4-6:30 and every taster is entered to win a $20 gift certificate! Our new shipment from Italy should be here by then!
- Betuel's Birthday is Friday June 19! It is Betuel's day all day long and while I don't know what daily specials he will pick, I do know how happy he will be to hear a big "Feliz Cumpleaños" from all of you!

I know it sounds extreme. Everybody either knows someone who needed/needs/will need blood or marrow, or you yourself needed/needs/will need blood or marrow in your life time.
We don't like to think about it, so don't. Just make a date with a friend to spend some quality time and give a precious gift to someone.
