Well now I've really done it. On Monday, June 30th, I fell and completely broke 2 bones in my right ankle. Today is Wednesday and I am having surgery to repair the ankle today. The surgeon will place a metal plate and 6 screws on one side, and 2 screws on the other side.
My right ankle. Anyone want to be my personal driver for a couple of months? I have 6-8 weeks of recovery in a cast after the surgery, and then 6-8 weeks of physical therapy.
So what does it all mean, anyway. I am taking this one moment at a time for now, and the only thing I have done for the immediate future is cancel all July events. We will still be open for business and catering as usual. After all, I have the greatest team in the universe and they will handle it all just fine.
I won't be able to do a wine tasting this month, and my plans to extend our evening hours and menu will be put on hold indefinitely. Luckily I also have the greatest customers in the universe and I know how understanding and supportive you all are.
My crew are all concerned for me and they can use an extra dash of love. This is throwing us all for a loop and it is not the most fun ever...and yet because of the love and support that surrounds me, this too shall pass and there will be lots of positive to come out of it.
I am so grateful to you all for that!
