How will you celebrate Summer Solstice?
The longest day of the year is Saturday, June 21, marking the official beginning of Summer.
For centuries Summer Solstice has been honored and celebrated with moonlit dancing, bon fires, candle light and herbs among other things.
The moon will appear nearly full (the actual full moon is June 18) and the Farmer's Almanac predicts that the weather will be cool with rainy periods. (aka Typical June Weather).
My guess is that most of us won't dance around a fire under the moon, while drinking honey wine and celebrating our crops. (Even though it sounds like FUN!) We can celebrate the change of season, and the changes in our lives, with simple pleasures: play some music; light a candle; enjoy a meal of local produce, cheeses and meats, and share some laughter with your friends and family.
You can get everything you need for a lovely time at our great farmer's markets. After all, that's where we shop and you love our food!
Relax and play, it's good for you!

JOIN US FOR THE OLD TOWN ART WALK!
Friday, June 13, 6-8 pm
Upstairs we will feature local artist Libby Sullivan.
Downstairs we will have several local artists and maybe even an author or two.
As always we will be offering free cookies in return for donations that go to the Food Bank and to Taking It To The Streets! Ministries.

We will also have complimentary coffee, and for the first time we will be sampling our house red and white wines for those over 21 years old!
It's a great night to get out and see the community, have some fun, check out the local art scene, some local shops and even get together with friends.
We will be looking for you!
