Let's all be kind to ourselves this year!
Let this be our resolution: We are open to all things that will enrich our lives and help us to attain our dreams.
Typical resolutions include: Reduce the bulge/get fit; spend more time with friends and family; quit smoking, or drinking, or gambling; get out of debt; get organized; enjoy life more, and on and on.
Our goals are really all the same. We all want to be 'better', healthier people. Living abundant, more meaningful lives so that we can relax and share ourselves with those we love. How wonderful!
It's easier than we think to live this life that we seek:
Step one: Invite those things in! Rather than tell the universe "I am going to exercise every day for the rest of my life and I will never eat another drop of fat!"
say: "I am open to all avenues of excellent health, abundance and living a fuller life! I wish to see new ideas to help me live the life I love!"
Step two: Go out there and be open.
Step three: When we see these opportunities, take a breath, take the leap, and try one! Try something you wouldn't normally do, or haven't done in a long time. Dance; go kayaking; take a friend to Bloedel Reserve or a walk on the beach at Kitsap State Park. Volunteer at the animal shelter to walk the dogs or take the animals to seniors for Pet Therapy. Start small: smile at everyone you pass, no matter what your real mood is.
This is a tricky path to follow, so be warned. Inherently the biggest challenges will be making the time for our selves, and allowing ourselves to perhaps be momentarily uncomfortable. When we do this, I can guarantee that we will increase our creativity and productivity. We will automatically be involved more often with those we love, or want to get to know better, which means we will be spreading that little miracle called love around.
We WILL be happier and healthier!

Fabulous Events:
A TASTE OF TUSCANY!
Friday, January 11th, from 11 am 3 pm
Please join us with
cookbook author Roberto Russo as he kicks off the tour of his new cookbook "GOOD CIAO". Roberto will be here most of the day and to honor him, we are featuring some incredible recipes from the book, along side our usual great menu.
We are honored that our friend Roberto is kicking off his U.S. book tour with all of us at Monica's!
This is going to be a day of typical Italian hospitality and charm, and we hope you can make it! I am so excited to share this fine food and wine with all of you.
If you can't make it and would like to reserve your copy of Roberto's cook book, drop me an email or give us a call at the bakery to let us know, because books are limited.
I met Roberto while staying at his agriturismo Parco Fiorito during a food and wine tour with Doumina Whyman, The Enthusiastic Traveler. I fell in love with this region of Italy!
Doumina now offers this tour, as well as many others, throughout Italy. Visit Doumina's site www.theenthusiastictraveler.com for more information.
