| Hello there!
Just a quick, mid-month note to let you know a few very important things!
In the newsletter that we sent out earlier this month I told you that we would be closed on Friday, August 17th. The hydroplane races are down here that weekend and they are closing some roads around us. We have since discovered that the road closures will not include the streets adjacent to our lot, so we have decided to be open that day!
(We will still be closed on Saturday, August 18th, since the hydros and surrounding festivities will be in full throttle that day.)
So come on in for Foccaccia Friday and have the best lunch around! |
| LOCAL AUTHORS
|
By now you are probably familiar with the fact that we love to display work by local artists in the cafe'. Now we have added books to our repertoire! We are featuring two local authors at this time and you can purchase their books at the cafe'.
Kitsap's own Sally Santana has expanded her newspaper column into a book:
"The Examined Life, Our Spiritual Journey"
You can purchase signed copies for $13, including tax.
Bremerton's newest rising star is Sarah Nilson. Her memoir is called:
"Does This Book Make My Butt Look Big? (And Who Cares Anyway, It's My Butt)"
Copies are for sale for $15, including tax.
Sarah will be signing copies and reading from her book at the cafe' on Saturday, September 8th, at 1pm, so if you love to laugh, come and spend a fun afternoon with us!
LOCAL HEIRLOOM TOMATOES
Ann and John Pyles are providing us with beautiful heirloom tomatoes from their farm in Poulsbo. Again this week we will be featuring their tomatoes in our soups and salads, starting with a gorgeous Caprice salad on Monday, and a simple sliced tomato salad on Tuesday.
These tomatoes are so fantastic! Before I even bite into them I can smell and taste the summers of my childhood. This is the way tomatoes are supposed to taste!
