Monica & Mark Downen, at your service
Happy Summer!!!

You may have noticed that we have a penchant for locally produced items in our cafe. Our latest local find is soda from Humming Bird Hill Sodas. Mike and Dee Armstrong have been selling their homemade sodas since 2006, as 'something to do' once Mike was retired as a fire fighter.
Mike and Dee started out by making root beer for friends and family, then moved on to selling it at farmers markets, where it sold out every week. They now have a variety of flavors that they make and we are trying several of them out to see which ones you like best.
Vote with your tastebuds and we will keep a few of your favorite flavors on hand, to refresh you on these hot summer days. Ask us to throw in some ice cream and make a root beer (or any flavor) float!

Upcoming Closures

We will be closed on the 4th and 5th of July for the holiday, and
starting at 4:00 on Friday, July 27th, as well as all day Saturday, July 28th, due to the whaling days frenzy in Old Town. Come on down and enjoy the festival!

OUR NEXT WINE DINNER!
Saturday, July 21, at 6 PM

"The spirit of wine sang in my glass, and I listened with love to his odorous music, his flushed and magnificent song."
~William Ernest Henly

As always you will be greeted with a light reception of lovely nibbles and something bubbly in your glass. Each of the first three courses comes with wine, and dessert is served with our wonderful coffee from Caffe Umbria, in Seattle.

We will start you off with our crisp and refreshing Waldorf Slaw, and a piece of roasted white corn.

Next we will 'mmmmm' you with a rich and creamy Baked Ziti with 5 cheeses.

The main course is St Louis style pork ribs, spice rubbed and tea smoked to mouth-melting perfection. Mark's Spicy Bean Medley and Court's Super Corn Bread will have you licking the plate clean!

Dessert will be a beautiful fresh Peach and Blueberry Crisp, with premium ice cream.

The cost for the dinner is $75 per person, which includes the tax and gratuity. Reservations are required.

Say 'hello' to our lovely Katie!
Katie has practically grown up at the bakery and she knows this place inside and out. Working the front counter is where you can usually find Katie, though she can often be caught helping out behind the scenes, since she is one of our best cookie and cake decorators. She can put a beautiful platter together and has been helping out serving food at the wine dinners. Her latest passion is roller skating so if you are up for an adventure you can meet her at the rink!
