Fleet Managers Can Learn to “Green”
Their Vehicles at Local Conference
Industry experts from across the
country will be on hand June 8-9 at the Belterra Resort in Florence,
Ind. to provide fleet operators with timely information on how to
best reduce emissions and foreign oil dependency.
The second “Greening Your Fleet” conference is hosted by the Greater
Indiana Clean Cities and Kentucky Clean Fuels Coalitions are hosting
the second annual Greening Your Fleet workshop which will focus on
alternative transportation fuels and advanced technologies.
“Fleets across Kentucky looking for smarter economic and
environmental transportation answers will get a complete education,”
said Melissa Howell, Kentucky Clean Fuels Coalition executive
director.

Topics include biofuel advancements, propane autogas implementation,
compressed natural gas, and hybrid and electric vehicle platforms.

Corporate speakers from UPS, Commonwealth Agri Energy, Clean Energy,
General Motors and Cummins will also address their initiatives on
regional and national levels.
Howell and Kellie Walsh, two of the nation's top Clean Cities
Program coordinators, will provide an overview of the U.S Department
of Energy's National Clean Cities Program efforts and progress, with
an update on current projects, insight on funding opportunities, and
finding committed partners. Combined, these coordinators have more
than 20 years of Clean Cities Program experience and have procured
more than $30 million in federal and state awards.
“Ride and Drive” vehicles will be on site as well, such as the
Electric Think, Chevy Volt and Roush trucks.
