Greetings!
According to the Chinese lunar calendar, the Year of the Rat began on February 7th. The Chinese Spring Festival, or New Year, is celebrated for two weeks, during which time everyone in China travels to their family home to celebrate. As you might remember from the media, China was experiencing terrible and unusual snow storms at the start of this year's Spring Festival, preventing Chinese from traveling. So please join me in hoping that people were finally able to travel and be with their families, enjoy moon cakes and other delectable delicacies with their children and their parents, and celebrate the New Year.

As we wind our way to the turning of the seasons, I have been enjoying Oolongs recently. The variety and subtlety of them provide an endless taste journey with fascinating aromas. Among my favorites are Ali San Oolong and Ginger's Oolong, both from Harney and Sons. I also recently tried, once again, Earl Grey, which has never been among my favorites. I found that by steeping Harney's Earl Grey Supreme a shorter amount of time, I actually enjoyed the lighter citrus accent of the bergamot oil.
