Nellie's is proud to feature Melanie Lee, Celtic Harpist, of Auburn, Maine. Melanie has been playing the harp for eight years, became certified as a Music Practitioner after completing the Music for Healing and Transitions Program in 2005, and volunteers at the Androscoggin Hospice House where she plays her harp for patients. She has studied with Deborah Friou of Brunswick, Maine as well as traveling to Scotland to study with Wendy Stewart. She is the founder of the Maine Harp Circle, an informal gathering of local harpers who meet to play music and share their love of of the Celtic harp. In her daily life, Melanie teaches fourth grade in Auburn, Maine and has her master's degree in literacy. Melanie will begin playing at about 5:30 P.M. after her trek from Auburn. So please join us for some refreshments, music, and enjoyment of the visual arts in Gallery 265.
