Kodak recently announced a digital camera sensor that is 50 megapixels (MP). While the race for the most MP has been raging for years, many consumers have been lost in the dust. The average person who wants to take photos of their kids or have pictures of their vacation would probably not need such a high-resolution camera.

I am often asked how many megapixels is enough? I typically recommend the 8-10 MP range for a majority of consumers. These resolutions produce great prints in the most common sizes. Greater resolution is most useful when you begin producing prints larger than 11x14 inches or you do a good bit of cropping to your images.

That said, 50 MP is huge! Many professional photographers are notorious gearheads. We love new toys and enjoy having the latest and greatest technology. A sensor of that size is capable of producing huge prints with an incredible amount of detail. To learn more, click on the link below:

It will serve to warn us of any potential problems that might delay a project from meeting set deadlines. Over time, it can be used to provide important information regarding performance, time and use of resources. This information will help us continually refine the way we do business, in order to best serve our clients' needs.
