May 25, 2011 (Edwards, CO) - The Mountain Rural Philanthropy Days (MRPD) Steering Committee is pleased to announce that Colorado Lieutenant Governor Joseph A. Garcia, who has a passion for education and public service, will be the keynote speaker at the 20th anniversary Mountain Rural Philanthropy Days, June 15-17 at Battle Mountain High School in Edwards. Registration is open at www.mountainrpd.org and closes June 3rd.

"The Lieutenant Governor has also been actively involved as a board member for many nonprofit agencies such as the YMCAs of Pueblo, Colorado Springs and Denver, Pikes Peak Legal Aid, the Colorado Springs and Pueblo Economic Development Agencies, The Colorado Housing and Finance Authority (where he served as Board President), the Pikes Peak Child Nursery Centers Inc., the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities, and numerous other civil rights, educational, and cultural organizations," said Jill E. Kovacevich, co-chair of MRPD and executive director of Doctors Plus, Inc.
MRPD is presented by a volunteer Steering Committee that has been working for nearly a year to produce a very worthwhile and exciting event.
