Monday Report

From Bonneville Research June 1, 2009
Greetings!

Update - Wasatch County Job Losses!

Note: On the job loss statistics from the Department of Workforce Services for Wasatch County.

  • DWS has issued a disclaimer about Wasatch County's job numbers that says "These job losses are inflated because of retail jobs incorrectly credited to Wasatch County in 2007 that were moved into Summit County in 2008."
  • Actually, I think the problem goes back further than that.  Backcountry.com moved their headquarters to Summit County in 2005 and DWS continued to credit those job numbers to Wasatch County until the error was discovered in 2008 and the jobs were transferred.
