UNITING BELIEVERS TO PRAY . . .   NOVEMBER 2, 2011

BORDER PATROL TO STOP SECURITY CHECKS

Ask the Lord to expose the hidden and irrational agenda regarding border security changes. Ask the Lord to give wisdom to those in leadership to combat all irrational policies that do not line up with the Lord's design and blessing for His children. Give our border patrol agents wisdom to apprehend anyone who would want to do harm to the citizens in the U.S.

The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe. (Proverbs 18:10)

The Lord will keep you from all harm--he will watch over your life; (Psalm 121:7)

The U.S. Border Patrol has quietly stopped its practice of routinely searching buses, trains and airports for illegal immigrants at transportation hubs along the northern border and in the nation's interior, preventing agents from using what had long been an effective tool for tracking down people here illegally, the Associated Press has learned.

Current and former Border Patrol agents said field offices around the country began receiving the order last month - soon after Obama announced that to ease an overburdened immigration system, it would allow many illegal immigrants to remain in the country while it focuses on deporting those who have committed crimes.

The routine bus, train and airport checks typically involved agents milling about and questioning people who appeared suspicious, and had long been criticized by immigrant rights groups. Critics said the tactic amounted to racial profiling and violated travelers' civil liberties.

But agents said it was an effective way to catch unlawful immigrants, including smugglers and possible terrorists, who had evaded detection at the border, as well as people who had overstayed their visas. Often, those who evade initial detection head quickly for the nearest public transportation in hopes of reaching other parts of the country.

Halting the practice has baffled the agents, especially in some stations along the northern border - from Bellingham, Wash., to Houlton, Maine - where the so-called "transportation checks" have been the bulk of their everyday duties. The Border Patrol is authorized to check vehicles within 100 miles of the border.

The order has not been made public, but two agents described it to the AP on condition of anonymity because the government does not authorize them to speak to the media. The union that represents Border Patrol agents planned to issue a news release about the change Monday.

"Orders have been sent out from Border Patrol headquarters in Washington, D.C., to Border Patrol sectors nationwide that checks of transportation hubs and systems located away from the southwest border of the United States will only be conducted if there is intelligence indicating a threat," the release says.

Those who have received the orders said agents may still go to train and bus stations and airports if they have specific "actionable intelligence" that there is an illegal immigrant there who recently entered the country. An agent in Washington state said it's not clear how agents are supposed to glean such intelligence, and even if they did, under the new directive they still require clearance from Washington, D.C., headquarters before they can respond.

Shawn Moran, vice president of the union that represents agents, was outraged at the changes.

"Stated plainly, Border Patrol managers are increasing the layers of bureaucracy and making it as difficult as possible for Border Patrol agents to conduct their core duties," the National Border Patrol Council's statement said. "The only risks being managed by this move are too many apprehensions, negative media attention and complaints generated by immigrant rights groups."

Along the northern border last fiscal year, the agency made 7,431 arrests. It was not immediately clear how many stemmed from routine transportation checks. The public affairs office for the Border Patrol's Blaine sector said it doesn't break down the data that way.

In the Buffalo sector, where there were more than 2,400 arrests in fiscal 2010, as many as half were from routine transportation checks, the agent estimated.

The change was immediately obvious to Jack Barker, who manages the Greyhound and Trailways bus station in Rochester, N.Y. For the past six years, he said, Border Patrol agents boarded nearly every bus in and out of the station looking for illegal immigrants.

Last month - one day after the 10th anniversary of 9/11 and all of the hype that surrounded it - the agents stopped coming. They haven't been back since, Barker said.

"What's changed that they're no longer needed here?" Barker asked. "I haven't been able to get an answer from anybody."

Doug Honig, spokesman for the American Civil Liberties Union of Washington, welcomed the news.

Gene Davis, a retired deputy chief in the Border Patrol's sector in Blaine, Wash., emphasized how effective the checks can be. He noted that a check of the Bellingham bus station in 1997 yielded an arrest of Palestinian Gazi Ibrahim Abu Mezer. Abu Mezer skipped out on a $5,000 bond - only to turn up later in Brooklyn, where New York police shot him as he prepared to bomb the city's subway system. Davis also noted that would-be millennium bomb suspect Ahmed Ressam was arrested at the border in late 1999 when he left a ferry from British Columbia to Washington in a rented car full of explosives.

"We've had two terrorists who have come through the northern border here. To put these restraints on agents being able to talk to people is just ridiculous," Davis said. "Abu Mezer got out, but that just shows you the potential that's there with the transportation checks."

The Border Patrol informed officials at the Bellingham airport on Thursday that from now on they would only be allowed to come to the airport "if there's an action that needs their assistance," said airport manager Daniel Zenk.

"I'm shocked," Zenk said. "We welcome the security presence the Border Patrol provides."

Many believe that Obama does not concern himself with the safety and welfare of this nation as strange as that might sound. How can this be explained? To many Americans, Obama wants to bring in as many potential voters as possible. Next, they project that Obama will press for amnesty and the right for these illegal immigrants to vote and draw from our depleted financial system with socialized medicine and draw from the already stressed Social Security coffer. Many attribute this irrational policy and strange behavior to a Marxist ploy to destroy our Capitalistic system that America has enjoyed since its establishment. Obama's reported "passive wink" at the "Occupy" rallies is more fuel for those who question his motives of wanting to unravel our current economic system. The meaning of his word "Change" is becoming more evident. GILLIBRAND BILL ENCOURAGES LGBT ADOPTION

Ask the Lord to deliver this nation from sinful promotion and acceptance of godless acts of homosexuality. Ask the Lord to open the eyes of those who promote these policies. Ask the Lord to lift the voice of the righteous cry. Cause those who promote the homosexual agenda to repent of their sinful way and embrace the way of the Lord which will bring life and wholeness.

"Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator-who is forever praised. Amen. Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error." (Romans 1:24 - 27)

For the first time in Senate history, a bill has been introduced to encourage agencies not to discriminate against lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender couples seeking to adopt.

"As more and more LGBT couples are getting married and starting families, we have a great opportunity to place children without a family into happy homes," said Sen. Kirsten E. Gillibrand, New York Democrat and lead sponsor of the Every Child Deserves a Family Act, Monday at the Huffington Post.

The past year has seen many moves toward gay equality, and "the momentum is there to build on our progress," she said, noting the repeal of "don't ask, don't tell," passage of gay marriage in New York and the "unprecedented assault" on the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) in the U.S. Senate and in the courts.

Ms. Gillibrand's bill would deny federal funding to any entity that considers sexual orientation, gender identity or marital status when contemplating prospective foster or adoptive families. A companion bill already has been introduced in the House by Rep. Fortney Pete Stark, California Democrat.

Congress spends more than $8 billion a year on child welfare, and many more children could be adopted if agencies accepted gay couples, the senator said. Instead, 31 states practice some form of discrimination against such couples.

TRUTH ABOUT ISLAM AND JIHAD BANNED

Pray that Congress takes immediate action in light of this report, and pray that this policy is overruled. Bringing the light of God's Truth about radical Islam and its jihadist agenda will thwart their evil plan. Pray for God's will to be done on earth as it is in Heaven!

"Those who forsake the law praise the wicked, but such as keep the law contend with them."
(Proverbs 28:4)

Deputy U.S. Attorney General James Cole declared Wednesday at a conference in Washington that he had "recently directed all components of the Department of Justice to reevaluate their training efforts in a range of areas, from community outreach to national security." This "reevaluation" will remove all references to Islam in connection with any examination of Islamic jihad terror activity. The Obama Administration has now placed off-limits any investigation of the beliefs, motives and goals of jihad terrorists.

Dwight C. Holton, former U.S. Attorney for the District of Oregon, emphasized that training materials for the FBI would be purged of everything politically incorrect: "I want to be perfectly clear about this: training materials that portray Islam as a religion of violence or with a tendency towards violence are wrong, they are offensive, and they are contrary to everything that this president, this attorney general and Department of Justice stands for. They will not be tolerated." (Contributor: Arutz Sheva, Homeland Security Net)

$1 TRILLION SAVINGS "NOT SUFFICIENT"

Ask the Lord to give His wisdom to those who have been set in positions of authority to find cuts in our budget to allow for financial integrity in our economic structure. Ask the Lord to give creative solutions to the problems that need to be addressed and solved. Ask the Lord to help the committee to overcome political prejudice to find the needed solutions.

"And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ- to the glory and praise of God." (Philippians 1:9-11)

Calls for the congressional debt reduction super committee to "go big" are ramping up, as financial and government analysts say the panel's aim of finding more than $1 trillion in savings may not be enough to steady the nation's wobbly economy.

A Government Accountability Office report released Monday said the federal government's fiscal outlook has improved, largely because of a hard-fought deal passed by Congress in early August that raised the debt ceiling and set out to identify ways to trim the debt by at least $2.1 trillion.

The GAO says that 1 trillion dollars in savings is NOT sufficient for economic stability. The GAO, an independent auditing arm, report released Monday said the federal government's fiscal outlook has improved, largely because of a hard-fought deal passed by Congress in early August that raised the debt ceiling and set out to identify ways to trim the debt by at least $2.1 trillion. The hard news is that "even this level of deficit reduction is not sufficient to ensure sustainability," says the report.

The aging U.S. population has strained entitlement programs such as Medicare and Social Security, lawmakers must do more to shore up the nation's long-term budget while also being careful not to further weaken the current economy.

The Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget, a bipartisan group that advocates for fiscal responsibility, says in a report released Friday that the deficit panel must find savings "two or three times as much" in order to set the country "on a path to sustainable fiscal growth." U.S. TO STOP PAYMENTS TO UNESCO

Pray that the U.N. will recognize the stress that this decision will place upon Middle East negotiations and peace. Pray the world government leadership will fear God and His covenants to the Jewish nation in order to avert His wrath.

"I will establish My covenant as an everlasting covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you for the generations to come to be your God and the God of your descendants after you. The whole land of Canaan where you are now an alien, I will give as an everlasting possession to you and your descendants after you and I will be their God."
(Genesis 17:7-8)

The United States will not pay $60 million to a U.N. cultural and educational agency after it voted Monday to accept the Palestinian mission as a full member, triggering a U.S. requirement to cut off funds.

"We are not going to be able to continue contributing to the budget," State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland said. "Palestinian membership as a state in UNESCO triggers longstanding legislative restrictions which will compel the United States to refrain from making contributions to UNESCO."

Palestinians won their greatest international endorsement yet, full membership in UNESCO, but the move will cost the agency one-fifth of its funding and some fear it will disrupt peace efforts in the Middle East.

In an unusually dramatic session at the Paris-based United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, there were cheers for "yes" votes and muted "no's" and abstentions. When the results were in, many delegates jumped to their feet and applauded and someone let out a cry of "Long live Palestine!" in French.

"Joy fills my heart. This is really a historic moment," said Palestinian Foreign Minister Riad Malki. "It's the return of he who was banished."

But the jubilation was quickly pierced by reality: The United States said it wouldn't make a $US60 million (A$56 million) payment to fill out its contributions for this year and would suspend all future funding.

UNESCO depends heavily on that money - Washington provides 22 per cent of its budget - but has survived without it in the past. The United States pulled out of UNESCO under President Ronald Reagan, rejoining two decades later under President George W. Bush.

The vote was a grand symbolic victory for the Palestinians, but it alone won't make Palestine a state. The issues of borders for an eventual Palestinian state, security, a solution for Palestinian refugees, the fate of Jerusalem and other disputes that have thwarted Middle East peace for decades remain unresolved. Some argued it would even make it harder for the Palestinians to reach their goal.

White House spokesman Jay Carney called UNESCO's decision "premature" and said it undermines the international community's efforts toward a comprehensive Middle East peace plan. He called it a distraction from the goal of restarting direct negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians.

Israeli Ambassador Nimrod Barkan said the decision did "a great disservice to international law and to chances for peace." (Contributor: Fox News, The Australian, AFP, Capitol Hill Prayer Partners)

SUPREME COURT DECIDING ON OBAMACARE

Petition the High Court of heaven on behalf of this case, asking that the Supreme Court hear one or both appeals challenging the legality of ObamaCare. Ask our Lord to move upon the hearts of the justices, to lift this oppressive burden of federally-mandated health care off of the shoulders of our citizens.

"For the eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous, and his ears attend to their prayer."
(1 Peter 3:12)

The Supreme Court Justices are now reviewing our petition requesting a review of the ruling of the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals on our lawsuit against the so-called Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, commonly known as ObamaCare. According to our sources, the petitions requesting a ruling by the Supreme Court on ObamaCare were distributed to the Justices' chambers on October 26, 2011.

The Justices will review each petition and then convene in a closed-door session on November 10 to decide which cases will be heard, which cases will be consolidated (if any), and whatever other courses of action they might consider. It is almost certain that the High Court will accept one or more cases involving ObamaCare. (Contributors: Mathew Staver, Founder and Chairman Liberty Counsel, Capitol Hill Prayer Partners)

 U.S. CONGRESSIONAL PRAYER FOCUS

H.R. 2874 Abstinence Education Re-Allocation Act - A study released two weeks ago by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shows that while fewer teens are having sex, the teen STD rate continues to rise.

Condom use among teens has increased since 2002, yet teenagers comprise up to 50 percent of all new cases of STDs today. Still, sex education programs around the country continue to avoid the abstinence education message, and instead favor a curriculum like the one in New York City. The media recently revealed NYC Department of Education's new approach to sex education, which encourages kids as young as 13 to visit a Columbia University website that discusses everything from oral sex to bestiality. This is not the approach that most parents favor in regard to sex education, and is further evidence that the government should be discouraging such approaches to sex education.

Rep. Randy Hultgren has sponsored H.R. 2874,
the Abstinence Education Re-allocation Act of 2011, to encourage a science-based approach to sex education that produces results.

H. Con. Res. 13: To reaffirm 'In God We Trust' as our national motto
- Congressman J. Randy Forbes (VA-04), Co-Chairman of the Congressional Prayer Caucus, announced today that the House of Representatives is scheduled to vote on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 on, a resolution sponsored by Forbes to reaffirm 'In God We Trust' as the United States' national motto and to encourage its display in public buildings and government institutions.

"In 2006, on the 50th anniversary of its adoption, the Senate reaffirmed 'In God We Trust' as the official national motto of the United States. Tomorrow, the House of Representatives will have the same opportunity to reaffirm our national motto and directly confront a disturbing trend of inaccuracies and omissions, misunderstandings of church and state, rogue court challenges, and efforts to remove God from the public domain by unelected bureaucrats. As our nation faces challenging times, it is appropriate for Members of Congress and our nation-like our predecessors-to firmly declare our trust in God, believing that it will sustain us for generations to come," said Forbes. In January 2011, Congressman Forbes introduced H. Con. Res. 13 to reaffirm 'In God We Trust' as our national motto; the resolution has 64 bipartisan cosponsors and was reported favorably out of the House Judiciary Committee in March 2011. 'In God We Trust' has been our nation's motto for over five decades.

It is part of our national anthem and alluded to in our Pledge of Allegiance. It is written on our coins and our currency and is engraved in both the House and the Senate chambers, as well as in numerous public building across our nation.

Why Reaffirm 'In God We Trust'? - Obama inaccurately proclaimed "E Pluribus Unum' as our national motto. Last November before a worldwide audience, in a much-anticipated and much-publicized speech focusing on the United States' relationship with the Muslim world, President Obama falsely proclaimed that our national motto was E pluribus unum. The President failed to respond to congressional entreaties to issue a correction; the uncorrected transcript remains on the White House website. Misunderstanding of the phrase "Separation of Church and State". The Supreme Court has held, "The First Amendment, however, does not say that in every and all respects there shall be a separation of Church and State. . . We find no constitutional requirement which makes it necessary for government to be hostile to religion." The words 'separation of church and state' do not appear in the U.S. Constitution. Rather, the phrase originates from a letter penned by Thomas Jefferson on January 1, 1802, to the Danbury Baptist Association.

Inaccuracies and omissions in the half-billion-dollar Capitol Visitor Center. In 2008, the over half-billion dollar Capitol Visitor Center opened for the purpose of educating over 15,000 Capitol visitors daily on the "legislative process as well as the history and development of the architecture and art of the U.S. Capitol." Yet, Capitol Visitor Center historians had sanitized the public building of any references to our national motto, including replacing the inscription of 'In God We Trust,' inscribed above the Speaker's Rostrum with stars in a replica of the House Chamber and cropping an actual picture of the chamber so you could not see the words 'In God We Trust.' Only until Members of Congress intervened publically and legislatively were these omissions and inaccuracies corrected.

Efforts to remove God from the public domain by unelected bureaucrats.

* Department of Veterans Affairs attempted to ban flag folding recitations at military funerals that referenced God or religion, even if specifically requested by the family of the deceased. * U.S. Mint attempted to remove the inscription 'In God We Trust' from the front of the new Presidential dollar and instead intended to print it on the edge of the coin. * Attempt of Navy and Air Force to enact policies affecting ability of military chaplains to pray according to their religious conscience. * Architect of the Capitol refused a teen's request for a certificate noting his grandfather's "love of God, country and family" to accompany a souvenir flag that had flown over the building.

H.R. 1627: Honoring American Veterans Act - This bill has several features, including the following: "Expresses the sense of Congress that an appropriate site on Chaplains Hill in Arlington be provided for a memorial marker, to be paid for with private funds, to honor the memory of the Jewish chaplains who died while on active duty in the Armed Forces, so long as the Secretary has exclusive authority to approve the design and site of the memorial marker." Last May, Congress passed H.R. 1627 by a unanimous vote (380 - 0).

As a result of that vote, last Monday, a memorial to 14 Jewish chaplains who died during active military service was dedicated Monday at Arlington National Cemetery, joining memorials to Protestant and Roman Catholic chaplains that had been in place for decades. Monday's dedication service at the cemetery corrects an oversight that had more or less gone unnoticed until a few years ago, according to those who sponsored the memorial. (Washington Post) Read more.

H.Res. 441: The Strong Defense, Strong America Resolution - Congressman Forbes and 34 other Members of Congress introduced H. Res 441, a resolution stating that a strong military is vital to a strong economy. Today, Congress and the Administration are making decisions to cut our defense budget that will have long-term effects on the future of America's national security, as well as exacerbating already staggering unemployment. Moreover, the Strong Defense, Strong America resolution states that further cuts to national defense will only weaken our nation and constrain our ability to protect our most vital interests. Congressman Forbes does not support solving the fiscal crisis on the backs of the men and women defending our nation; he released a video explaining the impact of defense cuts to jobs and those that serve, which is available here.

H.R. 1744: American Job Protection Act
- H.R. 1744, would repeal the employer mandate in the health care law. Beginning in 2014, employers with 50 or more employees will be fined if they do not offer a certain level of health care coverage. Specifically, the American Job Protection Act amends the Internal Revenue Code to repeal provisions added by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act requiring certain employers who have a workforce of 50 or more full-time employees to provide health insurance coverage for their employees.

H.R. 1744 is sponsored by Rep Charles W. Boustany, Jr. (R-LA) and has 160 Cosponsors. It is in the House Subcommittee on Health.

Pray the Lord would move the hearts of more members of Congress to sign on as cosponsors of this bill. Pray for passage.

Congressmen: No Same-Sex Weddings on Government Property - Hold the DOD Accountable to US Law and Protect DOMA

[Note: this is not yet a bill, but is a petition being circulated among members of Congress, leading to legislative action, as shown.]

Summary: Lawmaker urges colleagues to support marriage in next national defense budget bill.

Just after the military's Don't Ask, Don't Tell policy was officially repealed in September, allowing homosexual service members throughout all branches to serve openly, the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) issued a statement making chapels and chaplains available to perform same-sex ceremonies in states where they are legal.

But the fact that the federal Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) still exists, defining marriage as the union of one man and one woman, makes the DOD's new policy illegal, says Rep. Todd Akin, R-Mo.

Last week, Akin began circulating a letter on Capitol Hill, urging the Senate to enforce DOMA by including an amendment in the next defense budget forcing all U.S. military posts to comply with DOMA.

"My amendment, which is now the position of the House of Representatives, makes clear that federal employees and federal property can only be used for marriage ceremonies that are consistent with DOMA," he wrote.

The issue has come up before: In April -- five months before Don't Ask, Don't Tell was officially repealed -- the Navy's chief of chaplains signed a memo stating that base facilities could be used for same-sex marriage ceremonies wherever they are legal. When Akin, along with 62 other members of Congress, explained why that was illegal, the policy was suspended.

The DOD's newest policy, however, avoids the word "marriage," stating that "the use of DOD real property and facilities for private functions, including religious and other ceremonies, should be made on a sexual-orientation neutral basis."

Nonetheless, Akin said, "the application . . . of this new policy will undoubtedly violate DOMA." (Citizen Link)

11-11-11 GLOBAL DAY OF WORSHIP

Elena KaganThe Global Day of Worship (GDW) is a call for a unified, global worship movement to see the name of Jesus Christ lifted up throughout the earth. It will be a day that will unify many denominations within the body of Christ while embracing and celebrating the differences in our expressions of love for Jesus Christ. Through a unified, celebration and adoration of the name of Jesus, the world will see that we are His disciples.

Join us on November 11, 2011 - from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. in each time zone - for a wave of worship and adoration that will span the globe and unite all believers as one body. Utilizing 24 time zones, we will agree with and join the 24 elders, spoken of in Revelation 4, who are already worshiping Jesus around the throne. It is when the worship of heaven meets the worship of earth that spiritual climates of nations will shift as we serve faithfully here and now in preparation for His return.

What the Global Day of Worship Is

On this day, we will not to focus on asking, or petitioning the Lord. We will simply gaze upon His beauty, thank Him for His love, and declare His attributes and goodness in our lives, families, communities and nations.

We can worship Jesus through reflective expressions of love or loud, joyful celebration. We can sing hymns and choruses or engage in free- flowing passionate worship. We were all created to love Jesus, and this event will allow us to uniquely express our love to Him in unity around the globe.

On our website, we will stream live venues in each time zone ranging from small house gatherings of families to larger events.

Join us in this global celebration and adoration of Jesus!

"But I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to myself."
(John 12:32)

THE ONE BIBLE THAT SHOWS HOW 'A LIGHT FROM ABOVE' SHAPED OUR NATION. Never has a version of the Bible targeted the spiritual needs of those who love our country more than The American Patriot's Bible. This extremely unique Bible shows how the history of the United States connects the people and events of the Bible to our lives in a modern world. The story of the United States is wonderfully woven into the teachings of the Bible and includes a beautiful full-color family record section, memorable images from our nation's history and hundreds of enlightening articles which complement the New King James Version Bible text.
