Bill McDermott Speaks on Using Bank's Technology & Treasury Management to Improve Your Cash Flow at the January Section Breakfast

We had the pleasure of having McDermott Financial Solutions CEO Bill McDermott speak at the January 19th Section breakfast.  As a Wake Forest University Alum, Mr. McDermott understood the daily banking challenges business owners face, especially in the present economic downturn.  Understanding the problem and seeing the solution, Mr. McDermott founded McDermott Financial Solutions to provide business owners with thorough solutions to tackling cash flow and banking challenges.

As McDermott notes, a business's cash flow can greatly improve by leveraging a bank's treasury management services.  In Surviving the Drought: The Business Owner's Guide to Improving Cash Flow by Using a Bank's Treasury Management Services and Technology, McDermott offered perspectives on utilizing treasury management products.  Survival topics included: remote deposit capture to improve cash flow, alternative methods for financing growth and utilizing sweep accounts to improve investment income were presented.  In a preview of his speech, McDermott said:
"Business owners operate in a world of constant change but have to manage their cash flow requirements successfully every day.  There's just not enough time to get it all done. Utilizing technology and treasury management services offered by a local bank is critical for maximizing the amount of cash available to run your business."

Section Hosts First Pool Tournament at the January Networking Luncheon

On January 26, the Sole Practitioner/Small Firm Section held an open networking event over lunch . . . and the Section's first 9-ball pool tournament.  The event was at the Section's usual lunch location, Gordon Biersch (Midtown).  We welcomed many familiar faces and several new attendees.  Congratulations to Duane Campbell of the appropriately-named Champion Law Group, LLC for winning the hard-fought tournament.
