Health Insurance Options
WBON is pleased to offer a variety of different health insurance plans though Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Vermont. No one plan fits everyone, but one of our most popular plans is a Blue Care Consumer Driven Health Plan.

What does it cost?
Single Coverage: $289.91
Single plus one: $579.82
Single plus family: $797.83
*Note: Rates are for 2011 and are monthly.

What does it cover:
All of our plans include a broad base of preventive care with no additional cost to you, unless noted. For example, services include but are not limited to:
  • Adult and childhood immunizations
  • Prostate cancer screening for men
  • Breast cancer mammography every one to two year for women over 40
  • Cervical cancer pap test
  • Colorectal cancer screenings including Sigmoidoscopy or Colonoscopy after age 50
  • Blood pressure screening, cholesterol screening for men age 35 & older and women age 45 and older, diabetes screening for type 2 diabetes for adults with high blood pressure
  • Each insured person is eligible for an annual eye exam with a participating doctor for a $20 co-pay
  • And much, much more... to see a more comprehensive list, contact us.
How about other services besides preventive?
The plan has an annual $5,000 deductible per person, with a maximum of $10,000 per year for a family. Any services not under the category of preventive will be applied toward your deductible and you will pay for these. If you meet your deductible, all medical expenses are covered 100% by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Vermont.

How do I pay for the services that apply to my deductible?
There are several ways to manage these expenses. If you are an employer, you may choose to "fund" part of your employee's deductible with a Health Savings Account or a Health Reimbursement Account. If you are an individual business owner with no employees, you may choose to pay these expenses simply from your own personal funds such as a checking account, savings account, or credit card. A popular option is to open a special Health Savings Account at your local bank and make deposits at your convenience and affordability and then pay for deductible expenses from the H.S.A. account. This option can allow you to deduct deposited amounts from your gross income on your annual tax filing. Please consult an accountant for details and proper forms and note the IRS maximum yearly amounts that may be deposited.

How do I find out more information or sign up?
Contact us at director@wbon.org for more information!
