County Reform Opportunities
The 2010 year promises to be one of great challenge and change, as Cuyahoga County transitions from a county commissioner to an elected county executive and county council form of government.  Other county offices will be eliminated and/or consolidated under the Charter, which becomes fully effective in January 2011.

Already, numerous individuals and organizations, both internal and external have expressed a desire to be involved. The Transition Advisory Group (TAG) is looking for volunteers with expertise in the following areas:

  • Boards and Commission
  • County Council Planning
  • Economic Development/Planning
  • Finance and Administration
  • Human Resources
  • Human Services
  • Infrastructure and Support Services
  • Justice Services

TAG has identified workgroups to address most aspects of the tasks required for the transition to the Charter Government. Each workgroup will be co-chaired by a county leader and a civic leader, who will establish meeting schedules and a workplan. Specific charges are being developed for each workgroup. More details about workgroups and time commitments will follow. More workgroups may be added.

Go to the TAG website at http://charter.cuyahogacounty.us/en-US/home.aspx to volunteer or for more information.
