Help sponsor live football coverage for the Eureka Tornadoes home and away games

With cooler temperatures and a chance of rain,  it can only mean one thing. It's time to get the 2012 Tornado Football Season started. Thirty boys reported for the first practice.  Head coach Austin Wuthrich enters into his 3rd year as head coach along with Offensive Coordinator Mike Davison and Special Team Coach Scott Miller. All parties are excited with the group they have coming out.

KOTE 93.5 will be providing live broadcasting for each of the football games including home and away games beginning on August 31st when the boys travel to Haven, KS.  This can only be made possible with your help.  This would be a great opportunity for local businesses to advertise with promos and commercials.  For more information, contact Steve or Melissa Niemeyer at 620-583-7414.

Ladies Night Out

Each October the Eureka Area Chamber of Commerce hosts a special night for the ladies of Eureka. Free food and drinks are provided and vendors are invited to show their wares. It's an opportunity for the ladies to purchase that special something for themselves or get a jump on their Christmas shopping.

This year it will be held on October 10th from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the Matt Samuels Community Building, next to Eureka Downs Race Track. Due to limited space, vendors are encouraged to register early. There is a $25.00 booth fee for electricity, $20 without electricity, and $15 for Chamber Members and each vendor will provide a door prize gift which will be awarded during the evening.

In the past we have had candles and lotions, make-up and jewelry, kitchen and craft items, scrapbooking and calligraphy, information booths and demonstrations. Whatever your product, if you think women would like it, please feel free to call 620-583-5452 and talk to Christina (9am - 2pm, Mon.- Friday.), or fill out the attached registration form and return it to our office:

Eureka Foundation

The officers of the Eureka Foundation thank you for the support you've given to our organization over the years. We are a non-profit organization and depend upon the generosity of people like you who care about their community and want to see it flourish. We believe in Eureka and in Greenwood County and are working to make sure it not only survives, but thrives.

It is imperative that Eureka looks and feels like a vibrant and safe place to live and raise a family. With that in mind, we will continue our efforts to remove structures that are hazardous and beyond repair. In addition, we will be exploring ways we can help repair and improve those buildings that are still viable. As a kick-off to this effort, we allocated up to $500 for exterior paint to homeowners who are willing to do the work if we help provide the paint and tools. We have received over 21 applications for this program.

We are excited about our plans and hope that we can continue to gain support from individuals who also believe that Eureka can be a fun and exciting place to live and visit. Can we count on you? Membership in the Eureka Foundation is just $20 per year and your financial help will ensure our success. Checks may be mailed directly to the Eureka Foundation at P.O. Box 247, Eureka KS 67045.

Sincerely,

Cindy Pereira

President
