The M198 Howitzer is an Economic, Reliable, and Effective Towed Artillery System

M198_Firing

The M198 Howitzer has proven itself to be a reliable and powerful weapon.  It has been deployed around the world and assisted many different countries in conflicts throughout its 30-year history in service.  Mobile artillery is an essential component to modern military and the M198 howitzer is a surefire weapon that will exceed performance expectations and do so at price point that allows for purchase quantities that will make an impact.

The M198 Howitzer was commissioned to replace the M114A1 and once developed it proved to be a tremendous upgrade in range, reliability, availability, functionality and lethality.  In addition to these upgrades it has cultivated a reputation as an easy to maintain weapon system due to its efficient design.  It fires standard 155mm ammunition and was designed to operate flawlessly when using specialty rounds, such as rocket-assisted projectiles.  The weapon weighs less than 16,000 lbs. allowing it to be transported by large aircraft and the Chinook helicopter.  The M198's effective range stretches to 30,000 meters with rocket-assisted projectiles and 22,400 meters with standard ammunition.  With the optional 52-caliber barrel modification the weapon's range surpasses 40,000 meters.  Rapid emplacement can be achieved in less than six minutes and once placed it can fire at a maximum rate of four rounds per minute (two sustained).

The M198 Howitzer is a high quality, reliable, and easy to maintain weapon system that can be purchased for a fraction of the cost of other towed artillery.  Mandus Group can assist in the acquisition of the M198 Howitzer and once purchased, Mandus Group's team of artillery experts will inspect and rebuild the weapon system returning it to full mission capable status.  If the 52-caliber barrel modification is desired, the M198 can still be purchased for a fraction of the cost of other available towed artillery.  For more information contact Mandus Group, (309) 786-1507, or refer to our full line of services and products at our website mandusgroup.com.
