Imagine being held captive in a foreign land where no one speaks your language, where you are unable to communicate with those who hold you captive or are trying taking away something that belongs to you.

Imagine that you are in a foreign land where you have been assaulted or robbed, but the police and the courts speak a different language and no one is attempting to understand what you have to say.

Now, imagine that is happening to you right here at home.

Many American citizens are denied access to our Courts and denied their basic constitutional rights because their language is Sign Language and so many in authority within this country refuse to acknowledge the chosen or acceptable language of the deaf.

It is time for this practice to end.

Join us as we hold officials accountable for denying the proper access for deaf citizens in our courts.

Join us as we challenge prison officials and law enforcement who refuse to acknowledge the rights of deaf citizens to communicate freely in their own language.

Join us as we ask the federal government to explain how the ADA can protect the rights of deaf citizens if those who are in authority to enforce rights under this Act are continually permitted to communicate in a language other than that chosen by the individual who is deaf.
